Complex Rehab Technology

Equipment Built Around One Person

Complex Rehab Technology is individually configured equipment for people with significant mobility, seating or positioning needs. It is evaluated, measured, documented and fitted. Each stage depends on individual needs, clinical coordination and the required review.

Complex Rehab services are available in Texas only.

What we provide

Custom power and manual wheelchairs

Specified around posture, transfers, home access and the way the person actually moves through a day — not around a catalogue model.

Seating and positioning systems

Custom seating, positioning components and pressure management for people at risk of skin breakdown or postural deterioration.

Standing frames

Supported standing programs prescribed by the treating team, configured and adjusted for the individual.

Wheelchair power-assist

Discuss power-assist options for individually configured wheelchair needs, current chair compatibility, daily use and the evaluation process.

Patient lifts and transfer aids

Patient lifts and standing transfer aids where suitable. Discuss transfer needs, home dimensions and caregiver assistance; equipment and fitting arrangements require review.

How the process works

Complex Rehab is a multi-stage process, not an immediate equipment order. Timing depends on evaluations, configuration, documentation and payer review.

  1. 1

    Evaluation

The client, a treating therapist and our team assess seating, mobility, transfers and the home environment together.

  2. 2

    Configuration

Measurements, trials and component decisions are documented. Configuration is the part people underestimate — it is also the part that determines whether the equipment works.

  3. 3

    Funding review

We assemble the letter of medical necessity, therapy notes and specifications, submit for prior authorization, and follow the payer through review.

  4. 4

    Fitting and delivery

The equipment is fitted, adjusted and demonstrated with the client and caregivers before it stays in the home.

  5. 5

    Service and adjustments

Adjustments, repairs and reassessment are arranged as the person's needs change, subject to manufacturer warranty terms and payer coverage at the time of service.

Who this is for

People living with spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, ALS, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury and similar conditions — where a standard wheelchair cannot meet seating, positioning or pressure-management needs.

Who refers

Physicians, physical and occupational therapists, case managers and families. If you already work with a seating clinic, we coordinate with them directly. If you do not, we will help identify one.
